A watch case is presented as a demonstrator. This part shows the ability of ECM to machine 3D shapes with an electrode with the inverse shape as presented in the picture below.

Watch cases and other parts within a watch can be machined with high accuracy and fine details to a high quality surface finish.

Advantage of using ECM
Watch cases as presented are manufactured by several steps, as can be seen on websites of watch manufacturing companies, using several steps as example polishing by hand. By using ECM all steps can be replaced by one single process including electrochemical polishing.
